Weight loss stories are always incredibly inspiring, but this story of a sixteen-year-old bullied teen who decided to change her unhealthy lifestyle is certainly something special.
Josephine Desgrand from Queensland, Australia, has been bullied and made fun of because of her weight ever since she was little. At her heaviest, Josephine weighed just under 280 pounds. Josephine started her weight loss journey at the young age of 16 and started to notice that her weight affected her both physically and mentally. She was unfit to exercise and she had a lot of doubts and uncertainties, especially because of the despicable bullying by her peers at school. She no longer wanted her weight to define her and was determined to get slimmer and lead a healthier life.Josephine Desgrand Source: Josephine Desgrand
She didn’t want any surgery and wanted to lose weight on her own terms and time.
In the past, Josephine had tried a couple of diets and programs, but she could never commit to those plans on a long-term basis and she never saw any real progress. Even though it was still two years away, the prom night was a reason to start turning things around, because she wanted to look absolutely spectacular in her prom dress.

“I stuck to a low carb, no sugar diet for TWO WHOLE years,” she wrote on Instagram. “I began to eat natural sugars about six months into my journey. In the first 12 months I lost 63kgs. I do not see this as a diet to lose weight, I see this as my new lifestyle change.”
