Bored Sports Announcer Creates Hilarious Videos About Everyday Life.
  • Even the most serious situations can use a little humor.

    In the days before COVID-19 completely shut down London, England, professional rugby announcer and podcaster Nick Heath found himself with little to do. With sporting events closed indefinitely, Nick decided to use his talents to make people smile on Twitter.

    Londoners were told to practice social distancing, but there was no shelter-in-place order just yet. So Nick grabbed his camera and took to the streets to see what he could find. The result is a series of hilarious videos he calls “Life Commentary.”

    In other words, he recorded people shopping, walking their dogs, and kicking soccer balls around while making brilliant sports-themed observations. While he initially saw the videos as “a chance for me to go out and have a bit of fun ,” he quickly went viral.

    People just can’t get enough of his dry British wit, and we’re right there with them! Here are a few of our favorites.

    1. “It’s just good to see the supermarket ‘run the gauntlet’ challenge is not troubling him from his bed wear. is a champion in action.”

    2. “Oh! It’s got a wacky great big logo in the middle of it! Will he make do? Will he decide to go with it?”

    3. “The crudites conundrum. She’s gone with a slab of pâté there, that’s a safe choice.”

    4. “Oh my goodness, who’s this? It’s Colin, he’s broken free. Bless you! Well, he’s going to be disqualified.”

    5. “Of course, they’re pretty familiar with this course. And that’s what saw them become European champions just a few months ago.”

    Nick thinks his videos are such a big hit because people need a laugh during these uncertain times. Not to mention, everyone is craving the real deal!

    “Sport for me is as much about the sound of it, the look of it, the feel of it, as the action itself,” he explained . “So I think if you can embody the sound of it to a degree, then you’re almost scratching the itch for some people.”
